Traveling Together is Good for Your Sex Life

Traveling Together is Good for Your Sex Life

Traveling Together is Good for Your Sex Life

If you’re in a relationship, did you know that traveling together is good for your sex life? Researchers have found that travel improves sex. According to the US Travel Association, almost 60% of couples said being more intimate is an important reason to travel together. Among couples that did not take a trip together in the past year, nearly one in four (23%) say they “do not have enough time for intimacy and sex.” What’s more, 28% of couples report improved sex lives after traveling together, and of those, 40% report their sex lives are permanently better since traveling.

Here are four ways traveling can help improve your relationship:

Travel brings novelty

If you have fallen into a rut in the bedroom, most would advise to spice things up a bit. Well, one way to accomplish this is to book a trip to experience new things together. A fresh environment can give you a new perspective of your partner and your relationship. Also, choosing our Luxe Couples Retreat, which includes rooms with a ready-made romantic environment, such as rooms with plush bedding, a whirlpool tub and champagne on ice, and you have already set yourself up for success!

Fewer distractions

At home there are emails to answer, shows on Netflix to watch, kids to feed and bathe, jobs to do and dishes to wash. However, when you can get away to unplug from it all, be totally comfortable and well-rested you are more likely to think about and enjoy sex with one another. While exploring new places, you are more in tune with your partner physically, spiritually, and emotionally which can lead to a more fulfilling and powerful sexual experience.

Couples who travel are more adventurous

Traveling helps to build confidence as a couple. If you feel like you can conquer navigating through public transportation in a foreign land or finding your way to see some of the most famous places in the world, then it stands to reason that confidence would translate into other areas of life as well. Sometimes the best sex is when you are having fun and doing some exploration of your own!

Travel builds relationships beyond sex

Travel forces you to grow in many ways. As a couple, having time away reminds you of why you chose one another in the first place. It renews a sense of commitment that you have toward one another. It creates a better sense of connection, and ultimately passion. And although it might sound corny, traveling together successfully shows you that you can achieve things as a team. This strengthens your partnership and enhances your relationship. Sex is a byproduct of these other gains, in our opinion, because while a rockin’ sex life can be important for a lasting partnership, things like trust, compassion, respect, commitment, and a deep sense of love are foundational to a healthy, lasting relationship.

If the idea of a couple’s vacation sounds alluring just because you would like to get away, or if you and your partner need some help reconnecting, then read more about our Luxe Couples Retreat. We’d love to help you and your partner experience more passion and sex in your relationship.
