Explore the Hydrotherapy Journey at Le Blanc Spa Resort
The good organizers at Luxe knew what they were doing in choosing LeBlanc Spa Resort to host the Luxe Couples Retreat. If you’ve never enjoyed Le Blanc Spa Resort’s hydrotherapy journey, you are missing out on luxurious relaxing treat! The hydrotherapy journey is a complimentary benefit of LeBlanc, all you have to do is make an appointment. Then settle in for a real treat. Here is an overview of the hydrotherapy.
As you get checked in, the ambiance is extremely relaxing. You’re met with a cold scented “magic towel,” and then whisked away to the locker area, where you slip into your spa robe and slippers to be used during your BlancSpa experience.
Then, the journey begins. Your spa attendant will lead you to your first stop of the experience, the sauna. The sauna is beautiful. Red cedar benches and walls surround you as you step into the dry heat. The smell is wonderful, refreshing, and envelopes your senses as you choose . You can stay in the sauna for 5-15 minutes. The attendant gives you a cool towel for your eyes, and sprays you with quick cool misting of eucalyptus or lavender spray. You can choose to sit or lay down on the spacious benches as you enjoy your treatment.
Your attendant will come and let you know once your time is up, and after the sauna, your second stop on your spa journey is the ice room. It’s 68 degrees, and you sit on cold marble. You’re provided a bowl of ice chips and aloe. Spread the ice all over your body, followed by the aloe. It’s definitely quite the change from the dry heat of the sauna but, your body will welcome the cold refreshment. Plan on spending five to ten minutes refreshing in the ice room.
Next is the steam room. The room was too foggy to take a picture, so you’ll just have to use your imagination. Before you enter the steam room, you receive a mud mask for your face, and conditioner to put in your hair. Challenge yourself for a ten minute excursion into the steam room. Trust me when I say, ten is enough to make sure every ounce of toxin is pulled from your body.
After the steam room, you take a cool shower to get your body back to a normal state and set up for the best part of your spa journey.
You can enjoy a refreshing chlorophyll water or cucumber water, hot tea or spa cookies.
The next area is the jacuzzi. Five to ten minutes here and your body feels totally refreshed. Now for the brave, follow up your jacuzzi with a quick plunge into the cold pool. The water is 68 degrees and is a shock to the system after such a warm jacuzzi bath.
The health benefits of the cold plunge pool should not be dismissed. The brave and bolden will often choose to soak in this chilly water for five minutes (I only last about 30-45 seconds).
Following your submersion into the cold plunge, move to the warm pool directly adjacent. Enjoy a soak there to get your body regulated. By now, you should feel totally relaxed and ready for the “big finish!”
The last station in the journey (and my personal favorite) is a hot stone bed. While you’re laying on the bed, you’ll enjoy a scalp massage, and another cool cloth over your eyes. A few minutes on this bed, and I’m ready to take a nap!
If you’re getting a massage, you’ll be ushered into the quiet waiting area. If not, your hydrotherapy journey has come to an end, and once you’re finished on the hot stone bed, you can change and leave the spa, until next time.
