Is this retreat for people whose marriage is in trouble?

Great question. This retreat can meet the needs of several types of couples:

Happy couples: Things are good, but you want tools that ensure lasting happiness & maintain a strong bond.
Couples in a rut: Things are okay, and we’ve definitely had better times, and want to get back to that.
Couples struggling to connect: Things are rocky, but we both want to reconnect and repair.

Note: If you’re in the “things are rocky” category, we suggest you add on some additional private couples therapy sessions during the retreat. You can do that during the booking process.

How long do the couple sessions last?

During the retreat, you’ll attend small, intimate group sessions in the morning, led by Dr. Tabitha Johnson, a nationally-renowned couple and relationship expert. These sessions last 60-90 minutes and are designed to enhance your relationship and help you better connect to your partner.

We’ll cover topics like sex and intimacy, emotional connection, how to break through barriers in conflict, and how to protect your relationship over the long haul.

Will I have to share information with other people in the group?

We intentionally keep our sessions very small and intimate. You’ll engage in fun activities, learning top research-based skills to enhance your relationship. Don’t worry, you won’t have to share any details of your relationship with anyone else.

Who is not a good fit for the Luxe Couples Retreat?

We love having the opportunity to invest in marriages. However, our couples’ emotional and physical safety is of the utmost importance. If you are experiencing any of the following situations in your relationship, then a Luxe Retreat may not be an appropriate investment at this time.

Luxe Couple Retreats are not appropriate for couples who are

currently involved in divorce proceedings
actively involved in an affair
actively involved in an addiction
experiencing ongoing physical altercations or violence between each other
experiencing emotional abuse or sexual abuse

How long do we have to wait before seeing any progress?

During the retreat, you’ll engage in fun activities, learning top research-based skills to enhance your relationship. You will receive exciting take-away activities for you and your partner to talk about and work on together. From these activities, you should see the immediate impact.

In addition, you’ll gain useful tools to utilize in your daily life to improve your relationship. These resources will help you long after you return home from your luxury retreat.

I'm worried about leaving my kids. Thoughts?

If you have children, a “couple vacation” can give your children an important message that your marriage matters and that you treat it with importance and respect in terms of time, money, commitment, and focus. Kids often enjoy the time away from parents also, especially if they get to spend time with relatives they like.

Plus, with free wi-fi and unlimited international calls to the continental United States, you’ll have the opportunity to check in and talk to your children while you reconnect with your spouse on the couples retreat.

Is the cost worth it?

Schedule it: Schedule your flights, to arrive at Cancun (CUN) Airport. Send us an email with your flight reservations, so we can arrange transportation to the resort once you arrive. (Don’t worry, if you forget this part, we will follow up with you).
